Oh my, oh my, OH MY! I absolutely love Claire McCardell. I am still swooning over this pattern from So Vintage Patterns. Vintage 50s McCalls 4494, beach ensemble consisting of separates including shorts, halter top, skirt and jacket. And it's factory folded. WANT!Ohh what fabric would I choose? I'd love to make the playsuit. Maybe some lightweight linen or cotton. Perfect for summer. Then make a matching jacket. On yes.

I hesitate to post this (but as you can see I'm going to do it anyway...), but I have this pattern, found years ago in a ratty old thrift. It's even in my size. I've never used it just because it is so special. I keep telling myself that when I find the perfect fabric, I'll know it!
These McCardell patterns are so hard to find. She died right after they were released, and I'm thinking they must have pulled them from production.
